Job Description

Are you an experienced Contextual Practice tutor with FE or HE teaching experience, a background in acting, and expertise in face-to-face, blended and online delivery?

Would you like to lead the Contextual Practice provision for the Acting courses at Britain's first performing arts academy?

Working closely with our Course Leaders, you will oversee and develop an engaging and immersive Contextual Practice curriculum across our Acting programmes. Leading a small team of Sessional Tutors and external markers, you will help ensure our graduates enter the profession as thoughtful, informed and well-rounded performers.

You will bring an innovative approach, broad cultural awareness, strong academic credentials, and a sound knowledge of theatre, literature and critical theory. Experience supervising Practice-as-Research and independent performance projects would be advantageous.

As Italia Conti is first and foremost a professional training institution, creating a supportive learning environment for performers is central to this role. You will coordinate Contextual Practice across our BA and CertHE programmes, working collaboratively with Course Leaders and Heads of Department while understanding the distinct needs of each course.

A commitment to supporting talented students from a range of educational backgrounds is essential. You will help learners reach their full potential, including those with additional learning needs, supported by our dedicated SEN Tutor.

This is an exciting time to join Italia Conti. Since relocating to our state-of-the-art Woking campus in 2022, we have continued to invest in our students and programmes. If this opportunity inspires you, we would love to hear from you.
