Job Summary

Are you a natural relationship-builder who wants your work to fund real change for young people? Rural Media is looking for an ambitious Strategic Partnerships Manager to build a brand-new corporate partnerships function from the ground up.

Job Description

Rural Media is a Herefordshire-based charity and production company that empowers rural young people and underserved communities to find their voice, develop their creative talent and use digital creativity to drive social change. Through our proven creative participation model, developed and refined over three decades, we support early-career creative talent, young rural people and underserved groups to gain the skills, confidence, and platforms for personal growth and societal change.

Our organisation comprises Rural Media Charity, Rural Studios (our commercial production arm), and StoryPoint (our creative hub and training facility). Rural Studios invests all its income back into the charity, creating a sustainable model that amplifies our impact.
Over the next three years, Rural Media Charity will focus on two interconnected strategic priorities:
Youth Voice & Social Change - Supporting young rural people to drive social change through digital creativity, challenging stereotypes, influencing policy, and becoming leaders and changemakers in their communities
Early-Career Artists/Creatives & Digital Platforms - Supporting early-career creatives from rural, regional and underserved communities to develop their practice, thrive on digital platforms, and build professional creative careers

As Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will build a new, sustainable stream of corporate income that directly fuels this mission, with a particular focus on supporting young people not in education, employment or training into real opportunity in the creative sector. You will identify, secure and grow partnerships with businesses who share our commitment to rural equality and youth opportunity, working closely with the CEO/Creative Director, Development Director, Strategic Partnerships Consultant and colleagues across Rural Media and Rural Studios to turn relationships into lasting, mutually valuable partnerships.

Job Requirements

With the support of our Strategic Management Consultant, build a new corporate partnerships function from the ground up, generating a six-figure target per year in income to support Rural Media's charitable mission
Develop and secure partnerships that align business objectives - CSR, ESG, skills, talent pipelines, brand - with Rural Media's work supporting young rural people and underserved communities
Lead stewardship of existing and new corporate supporters, building multi-year relationships that grow in value over time
Represent Rural Media across business networks, forums and events, raising the profile of our work with corporate audiences
Work closely with the Development Director, Head of Youth Programmes and wider Development Team to ensure corporate partnerships complement and strengthen the organisation's wider funding strategy
Contribute compelling evidence, case studies and impact narratives to support corporate propositions

Job Responsibilities

Identify and approach prospective corporate partners across Herefordshire, the wider Marches region, and nationally where relevant
Develop compelling partnership propositions and cases for support that connect business goals with Rural Media's mission and impact
Lead partnerships from first approach through proposal, negotiation and agreement
Build a pipeline of prospects with clear forecasting against the six-figure annual income target
Identify and pursue opportunities aligned with our creative careers and youth employment work including skills partnerships, work placements, mentoring and employer engagement
Manage and grow relationships with existing corporate supporters, encouraging increased and multi-year support
Ensure partners receive regular, compelling reporting that demonstrates the impact of their support, using data, case studies and young people's stories
