Job Summary

We are looking for a Sound No. 1 for this year’s pantomime, Cinderella. The role will involve live mixing and operating recorded sound for this panto which has a cast of 12 and a band of 4.

Timeline
First day of rehearsals in Cheltenham - Monday 9th November 2026
Sound No.1 start Saturday 21st November 2026
First public performance - Friday 27th November 2026
Head of Sound planned to cover 1 performance per week after first complete performance week
Final performance - Sunday 10th January 2027
Key Responsibilities
Support the Sound Designer during the production week
Ensure the high quality of the audio of the performance.
Being lead sound operator.
Supervise Sound No 2 ensuring all mics are correctly prepped.
Liaise with Head of Sound over any equipment issues, and spares and consumables purchases.
Liaise with Everyman Staff/CSM on any HR, H&S, and policy issues.
Other duties as reasonably required by the Chief LX, Head or Sound, CSM, Production Manager & Technical Manager.
Facilitate Everyman Head of Sound learning show to provide cover (will stand in for occasional show to keep familiarisation during run)

Person Specification
Essential:
Demonstrable relevant professional experience to match responsibilities.
Equipment used will include:
o Yamaha QL5 audio console
o Qlab
o Dante Audio Networks
o D&B Audiotechnik sound system
Ability to work under pressure.
Proactive and flexible attitude.
