Rural Media is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Producer & Creative Facilitator to join our Creative Learning team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with production experience who is equally inspired by developing emerging talent.
Working alongside industry professionals, you'll help design, produce and deliver innovative film, television and digital media training programmes for young people. You'll play a leading role in developing and delivering a programme of short-form ScreenSkills courses, while supporting participants to build confidence, develop practical production skills and take their next steps into the creative industries.
This is a varied role combining creative producing, workshop facilitation, project coordination and and industry engagement - whether that's planning a new training programme, supporting a film shoot or leading a practical workshop.
Job Requirements
The Assistant Producer & Creative Facilitator plays a key role in supporting the development and delivery of Rural Media's film, television and digital production portfolio alongside its creative learning programmers for young people. Working across both production and education, the postholder will contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of a range of film and digital projects, while taking a lead Producer role on the BFI Academy film productions working to the BFI Academy Course Leader.
Working alongside the Creative Learning team, the postholder will lead the design and delivery of a programme of short-form ScreenSkills training courses, as well as co-designing additional workshops and learning opportunities that respond to industry needs, the interests of young people and Rural Media's strategic priorities.
Job Responsibilities
Support delivery of film and TV training programmes for young people
Serve as Assistant Producer for the BFI Academy films, supporting the delivery of the programme by coordinating productions, mentoring emerging filmmakers, and ensuring participants gain meaningful, industry-informed production experience.
Contribute as Assistant Producer across the organisation's portfolio of productions, adapting to the needs of multiple projects and production teams where possible.
Facilitate and lead on engaging practical workshops and creative learning sessions.
Assist with filming, sound recording, editing and post-production.
Support preparation of learning resources, training and production schedules.
Support the co-design and development of innovative short courses, masterclasses and creative workshops in film, television and digital media.
Work with colleagues, freelance practitioners and industry partners to ensure course content reflects current industry practice.
