Job Summary
Job Description
The Head of Finance and Operations is a member of the Leadership Team alongside the Director and the Development Director. Leading on ensuring the business plan and strategic direction of the organisation is implemented, the role is responsible for financial management and planning, reporting and evaluation, building and office management, human resources and visitor services.
This important role is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual. You will have excellent financial acumen and be able to demonstrate organisational management. Joining the organisation during an exciting period of continued development, the role will ensure the organisation achieves its objectives and those of its core funders and key stakeholders.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (10 am-6 pm)
Salary: £45,000-50,000 per annum (depending on experience) with additional performance-related bonus

Proven experience in organisational financial management, including management and annual accounts
Senior management experience with an ability to manage staff effectively and fairly
Experience in implementing operational systems and the ability to plan, organise, schedule and budget effectively
Experience working in a museum, gallery, cultural or voluntary sector organisation
Experience in devising and implementing policies and procedures
Working knowledge of building management and maintenance
Knowledge of arts funding and experience in reporting and monitoring funding applications
Experience in business planning and strategy implementation at a senior level

Work with the Director, Leadsership Team and the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee on financial decision-making, planning and control
Manage and set the annual budget, reporting to the Director and Finance, Audit & Risk Committee and Board of Trustees on areas of concern and change
Production of quarterly management accounts and cash flows, supervising VAT returns
Liaise with the external Accountant and Auditor on the production of the annual financial statements and the Trustees' Annual Report
Overseeing building management, operations, and front of house, ensuring an accessible and safe environment for all building users, including studio holders, visitors and the on-site restaurant
Working collaboratively with the Leadership Team, oversee and maintain Studio Voltaire's business plan, ensuring it is updated annually
Be the lead contact with Arts Council England
