Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Assistant Stage Manager for a new play premiering at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. Featuring a cast of 6, the play is the first in a season of new plays produced and directed by American director Andy Sandberg at the venue.

Dates:

Rehearsals (at Riverside Studios): from 1st September, Tech ASM to join W/C 7th September

Technical Rehearsals: 21st - 25th September

Previews: 26th September - 3rd October

Press Night: 5th October

Performances: 6th October - 21st November (possible extension to 28th November)

Salary
£575/week Rehearsals
£650/week Performances
Plus holiday pay, and overtime where applicable

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of two years' experience as an Assistant Stage Manager on productions of a similar professional scale
Demonstrable experience working on new writing theatre productions
Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
A calm and proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem solving under pressure
Working knowledge and understanding of both live performance sound systems and theatre lighting
Experience of leading scene changes and running onstage set cues.

Job Responsibilities

Supporting the smooth running of rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances alongside the Stage Management team
Carrying out pre-show set-up, backstage track responsibilities and performance duties as required
Assisting the CSM with the sourcing, maintenance and return of all props and furniture
Identifying and alerting the CSM to any technical issues
Assisting in the fit up and daily reset on stage and running scene changes and on stage show cues during the performances.
Ensuring all staging/prop requirements of the productions are prepared to an excellent standard and are ready and functioning for rehearsals and performances.
Preparing and updating rehearsal paperwork and show tracking documentation as required
Assisting with costume, prop and backstage maintenance throughout the run
Supporting a positive, inclusive and safe working environment throughout all stages of the production
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures and working practices are maintained throughout rehearsals
