Job Summary

Thanks to players of The National Lottery, Clapham Film Unit has been awarded a grant to record the history of rewilding in England. We are training volunteers to record oral histories from rewilders. We are looking for an experienced volunteer co - ordinator to support the volunteers in the North.

Job Description

Part time employed on a freelance basis, 1 day per week @£150 per day over the 6 months of volunteer activity. Total fee £3600.

Key duties :
volunteer co-ordinators, will lead on recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing volunteers, drawing on their own experience of volunteering. They will report to the project manager and will be a key link for organisations and individuals in their area.
Responsibilities :
recruiting and supporting volunteers to make oral history recordings. Attending training, co- ordinating volunteers and interviewees meeting to make recordings.
Collecting and backing up the recordings, organising the transcripts and summaries. Maintaining equipment, replacing batteries.
It's important that volunteers have someone to support them. This helps them do their role well and be safe. It takes time to recruit, train and support volunteers. The volunteer co ordinator role is very important. The right person will be able to troubleshoot volunteer issues, highlight the role volunteers play in the
organisation and will evaluate their impact. Ensuring that the experience of volunteering is inclusive and accessible.
Volunteer co- ordinators will connect with each other once a
month at an online meeting to share knowledge and experiences and to feedback about the project. They will make regular reports to the steering group, will be part of evaluating activities and will represent Clapham film Unit at events.
All the roles will involve travelling away from home and occasional weekend work.
