Job Description
Hubbub Theatre Company in Derby are looking for organised, innovative and visionary individuals to join their board of trustees.
Hubbub are particularly keen for people to apply who may have a lived experience of disability, an interest in the arts, who represent the cultural diversity of Derby or are an experienced professional who has run a charity; and would like to receive applications from people who have knowledge and skills in the following areas of Finance, Business Development, Human Resources or Education, particularly in SEND provision.
Hubbub Trustees meet four times per year for a 2-hour board meeting at our home in Chapel Street Arts Centre, Chapel Street, Derby. As well as the four board meetings, there is one annual Away Day to look at future developments and team building. We would also like trustees to support two public facing events per year.
Hubbub's current board of trustees includes representatives from The Company, The University of Derby and leaders in the arts community. The board is also supported by and works with the Hubb Leadership group who represent the Hubbub community and groups.
Hubbub Theatre is a dynamic, creative theatre company with co-leadership, co-creation, equity and kindness at the heart of all they do. The organisation, based at Chapel Street Arts in Derby, was founded in 2016 by Jen Sumner, who identified a need and desire for an inclusive theatre company for Derby with learning disabled, autistic and neurodivergent actors and performers of the highest possible quality. T'he Company' produces annual theatre productions alongside 'Get Involved' weekly creative classes for the learning disabled, autistic and neurodivergent community and also offers specialist training across the UK.
