Job Summary

Working closely with the Schools and Marketing Team, the freelancer will support the delivery and growth of our schools programmes, in particular Eastside Schools Workshops, helping to develop relationships with schools and designing and delivering marketing content.

Job Description

Eastside is looking for 2.5 - 3 days a week freelance support to provide additional administrative and coordination capacity for our busy Schools Team from September to mid-November 2026, with the possibility of extending into a fixed-term role beyond this period.

Working closely with the Schools and Marketing Team, the freelancer will support the delivery and growth of our schools programmes, in particular Eastside Schools Workshops, helping to develop relationships with schools, designing and delivering marketing content to go to school contacts and on social media, follow up enquiries and bookings, coordinate projects and keep communications and administration running smoothly. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, proactive, confident communicating with schools and able to manage multiple priorities.

Experience in arts education, schools engagement, cultural engagement or a related field is desirable, alongside a genuine commitment to increasing access to creative opportunities for children and young people.

Job Requirements

Essential:
Knowledge & experience:
a minimum 2 years experience of working in arts educational setting or cultural organisation
good understanding of the day-to-day challenges in the educational and cultural landscape,
and an appreciation of how schools, teachers and young people typically engage with creative /
cultural providers
Skills & abilities:
able to pick up workstreams quickly and hit the ground running
excellent communication skills both written and verbal
highly proficient in the use of Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets, MailChimp and Canva (or
similar graphic design software)
excellent attention to detail
highly organised & capable of working on a number of busy, complex programmes
simultaneously

Job Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES
Programme Coordination
Oversee the day-to-day administration of Eastside School Workshops and the booking process from start to finish, including servicing booking enquiries, promotion, scheduling, artist/school liaison and evaluation.
Support the process of reviewing and amending resources for workshops.
Support the Schools Team with administration connected to Eastside's flagship Schools Programmes (Spoken Word Power, Artists in Residence & Creativity Live), e.g. recruiting and contracting facilitators and schools, scheduling complex timetables of workshops and overseeing the Schools Team calendar.

Communications
Be a confident and reliable lead point of contact for all stakeholders connected to Eastside's schools programme, including school senior leadership teams, teachers, creative facilitators and staff at partner venues.
Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in delivering the Marketing & Communications plan for the Schools Team
