Job Description
To plan and deliver a weekly three-hour youth theatre drama workshop every Saturday during term time between 10.30am and 1.30pm.
To direct one production a year, usually around Easter, plus a more informal devised performance at the end of the academic year. The choice of show will be agreed in consultation with the Arts Manager and approved by the Board. Please note that directing a show at The Crescent Theatre requires your attendance at production meetings and all rehearsals and performances. You will also need to brief all theatre departments; wardrobe, props, lighting, sound, set design, stage management, etc., of your requirements in plenty of time for them to support your show.
To ensure all appropriate safeguarding measures are adhered to including, but not limited to, taking a register and completing risk assessments for the workshops as well as for the productions.
Monitor the development and participation of members of the Crescent Youth Theatre and provide additional support and behaviour management as required.
Coordinate the participation of volunteers from the adult theatre in workshop sessions and in productions as appropriate.
Report to and liaise with the Crescent Theatre Board of Management.
