Job Summary
Job Description
Stage manager required to support small scale tour of Fiona Padfleld's Lovedale - touring 9 venues in February to April 2026. Required for 3 week rehearsal period and then 11 separate days of performances / Get in. May require also some tech operation in some venues.
Pay is on ITC base rate with relocation and meal allowances.
This amounts to £5705 for 29 days of work with expectations of 6 hour days.
Job Requirements
This is a freelance position required to attend rehearsals and then attend every performance.
Job Responsibilities
Role includes:
Set up rehearsal rooms using tape to mirror different venue spaces.
Manage the book: Build and maintain the prompt script, tracking actor blocking, props, and tech cues.
Procure, pack, and repair props, small furniture pieces, and set elements that fit transit limits.
Coordinate daily call times, transport logistics, and communication between the cast and director
Load, unload, and drive company vans or trucks carrying the show's set and gear.
Lead the physical setup and teardown of the production at each new venue, often working alongside local house technicians.
Adjust the set, lighting positions, and sound layout to fit unconventional, tight, or varying performance spaces.
Meet venue managers and local staff upon arrival to confirm health and safety, schedules, and power needs
Call sound, lighting, and scene changes, or operate the technical boards directly if required.
