Job Summary

The Senior Company Manager is the most senior crew member, line managing the Company Managers, Stage Manager, Head of Wardrobe and Show Technical Manager. They support team leadership, scheduling and wellbeing, while overseeing policies, processes, payroll, budgets and bible paperwork.

Job Description

Leadership

* Line manage HoDs, supporting cohesive leadership, workload distribution, communication, conflict de-escalation and escalation of cast/crew concerns.
* Oversee performance management and reviews.
* Cover CM on Duty when required, including the CM phone, swings and cast wellbeing concerns.
* Lead communications during show delays, pauses and stops, including show code responses.
* Support recruitment of HoDs and deputies.
* Support emergency response and de-escalation, including audience management, technical/scenery issues, medical incidents, distressed individuals, hazards, statements and incident logging.
* Represent the company at site, press and other events and support larger-scale maintenance sessions.

Scheduling

* Oversee and circulate the weekly HoD rota for approval.
* Draft rehearsal schedules with the CM/AGM, coordinating training, spaces and inductions.
* Review HoD annual leave and monitor departmental leave approvals.

Wellbeing & Culture

* Promote a respectful, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.
* Support HoD and departmental wellbeing by monitoring workload and support needs.
* Work with the AGM/HoDs to maintain cast and crew morale.
* Support the CM with cast welfare and the directing team in maintaining performance standards.

Processes & Bibles

* Audit and improve operational processes for efficiency, fairness and best practice.
* Oversee onboarding/offboarding, induction and training plans; handovers; holiday/absence cover; repairs and maintenance forecasting.
* Work with Venue/AGM teams on emergency procedures, incident reporting, first aid, training and cast/crew facilities.
* Work with GM on return-to-work plans and Access Passport meetings/reasonable adjustments.
* Oversee departmental bibles, purchasing lists and makers guides.

Payroll & Budgets

* Check and approve weekly payroll, invoices, timesheets and crew/cast payments.
* Oversee monthly production spending and reconciliation.

Job Requirements

Rollout:

Ideal Start Date: ASAP
Initial Contract Term: Until 14 March 2027, with potential to renew subject to performance and offer.
Experience operates 7 days a week, with entry times 10am-6pm and working hours normally 8am-11pm.
40 hours per week across 5 days at £880.40 per week. Additional hours paid at £22.01/hour, subject to prior GM approval.
Weekly rest days vary according to the rota, with at least one working day expected to fall at weekends.
Self-employed fixed-term contract with holiday pay and SSP benefits.
Leave embargoes: 24-30 Oct 2026; 2-15 Nov 2026; 21 Dec 2026-3 Jan 2027; 13-19 Feb 2027; and 1-14 Mar 2027. No holiday/NA requests will be considered during these periods.
Administrative work is hot-desking; you must provide your own laptop, mobile phone and other required devices.
You must be comfortable moving through rat runs and tight spaces within the experience.

* Experience maintaining show documentation, including bibles, policies and operational paperwork.
