We are now seeking to appoint a Sound, Video and Broadcast (Engineering Support) Manager. This role will be responsible for the management and delivery of all Sound and Video operations for the stage, and line managing the Broadcast (Engineering Support) staff for external broadcasts.

Job Description

The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. The role:

Our Technical, Production and Costume Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal, and event. We are now seeking to appoint a Sound, Video and Broadcast (Engineering Support) Manager. This role will be responsible for the management and delivery of all Sound and Video operations for the stage, and line managing the Broadcast (Engineering Support) staff for external broadcasts of our productions, and to deliver this safely and effectively within agreed resources and budgets.

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidates will have excellent technical skills and be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities. You will also be able to evidence:

-Thorough understanding of current equipment and systems and a lively interest in new product developments.
-Experience of sound and video in a performance environment, preferably a large producing theatre or organization.
-Demonstrable understanding of H&S requirements and experience of risk management and documentation.
-Proven experience of managing teams and projects with consistent high production standards.
-Positive leadership style, leading by example with a collaborative approach and able to manage conflict and seek resolution.
-Demonstrated ability to build good relations with artistic teams.
