DramEd is growing its team of freelance Associate Practitioners to deliver our participatory, drama-led learning programmes in nurseries and primary schools.

We have existing classes available from November 2026, including nursery sessions across the Ealing area and an after-school drama club for KS1 and KS2 children in Southall. There is also scope to take on additional DramEd sessions and workshops as we grow.

We are looking for confident, engaging practitioners who can bring stories and learning to life through drama, imaginative play, movement, music and improvisation.

You might be a professional actor, performer, drama facilitator or teaching artist with experience working with children. Singing confidence is strongly preferred, and musical skills such as guitar or ukulele are a bonus.

DramEd sessions are participatory rather than performance-led. Children are invited into the story, becoming characters, contributing ideas, solving problems, moving, singing and imagining together. Our practitioners need to be able to respond to children in the moment while confidently holding the structure of a session.

Successful applicants will receive DramEd induction, resources and ongoing support.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a DramEd Practitioner Audition & Assessment Morning at The Questors Theatre, Ealing, from 10am-12pm (Date to be confirmed). This will include practical drama exercises, storytelling, improvisation and a short facilitation activity.

We may appoint more than one practitioner.

A driver/access to a car is recommended due to travel between settings.

Freelance rate: from £45 per 30-minute nursery session, with rates for longer classes and workshops agreed according to the booking.
