The Literary Development & Partnerships Lead role sits within a wider team of key Support Workers engaged by the Creative Professional; whose career sits across performance, writing & music across theatre, radio, screen and more.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional literary thinker and writer with experience within publishing, commissioning, theatre, literature, memoir development or adjacent cultural sectors.

They will be able to concisely and compellingly pitch a memoir, understanding both the craft of the work itself and the strategic advocacy required to get it onto the desks of publishers, literary agents, commissioners and decision-makers, especially in relation to the additional barriers the Creative Professional faces. They will recognise that securing opportunities requires persistence, relationship-building, tenacity and a sophisticated understanding of the literary landscape.

They will lead with excellence, demonstrating an ability to identify, profile and amplify outstanding writing whilst also understanding how lived experience, disability, intersectionality and systemic barriers can be thoughtfully and authentically positioned to create meaningful opportunities, partnerships and sector engagement.

They will have experience developing successful applications, securing commissions, supporting publication pathways and creating persuasive written materials including cover letters, biographies, pitches, supporting statements and publisher submissions. They will understand how to frame a creative professional's work in ways that honour artistic integrity whilst maximising visibility, opportunity and impact.
