Job Requirements
Essential
Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
Senior management experience in a museum, heritage, arts, cultural or comparable charitable/visitor-attraction organisation
Leading and motivating staff and volunteer teams through change
Budget and financial management, including setting and monitoring organisational budgets
Successful fundraising and/or income generation, including grant applications and funder relationships
Working with, or reporting to, a Board of Trustees or non-executive board
Understanding of collections care, interpretation and museum standards
Understanding of charity governance, safeguarding and health & safety obligations
Awareness of the funding landscape for independent museums and heritage organisations
Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate strategy into deliverable operating plans
Strong financial and commercial acumen

Job Responsibilities
Developing and driving overall museum strategy and sub-strategies and an annual operating plan and priorities
Leading and inspiring high-quality visitor and learning experiences and community engagement through museum collections, exhibitions and local stories at Wycombe Museum and the Chair Discovery Centre on site and virtually.
Financial and budget management
Securing funding and external support
With the support of the team managing the delivery of grants and funding through programmes and projects, including evaluating and reporting back to funders.
Supporting the Chair and Board of Trustees with robust Governance including compliance with legal obligations, maintaining our accredited status and preparing for designation
Advocating for Wycombe Museum
Overall maintenance, management and development of sites, buildings and premises including security, health and safety and safeguarding compliance
