Job Description
The successful candidate would work 37 hours per week at £12.71 per hour. There is an opportunity to access further performance related bonus' and overtime.
The main focus of the post is to support disabled artist, Jason Wilsher-Mills MBE, who is a renowned award winning artist, who has exhibited at prestigious venues both in the UK and beyond.
The post requires some personal care, but the majority of the role is based on admin, supporting travel, overnight stays in hotels, liaising with creative partners and helping Jason throughout his daily professional duties, such as liaising with creative partners and organising delivery of work.
It is a post where there is a lot of travel involved and opportunities to work alongside Jason on exciting project, both in the UK and overseas, so the applicant must be happy to travel and stay away from home on a regular basis.
If you require further training then this would be provided.
It is essential that the candidate is based at least 20 miles driving distance to Sleaford in Lincolnshire.
It is also important that the candidate has a good understanding of Microsoft Office and Photoshop.
Other support needed:
Complete invoices
filing
sending emails on Jason's behalf
completing spreadsheets
taking minutes at meetings
carrying out research tasks
help tidying studio/office (at least once per month)
Communicating with creative partners
To carry out tasks that Jason cannot physically do himself - this includes:
setting up work, such as inflatable sculptures
measuring spaces,
help installing exhibitions, etc
carrying and loading up equipment
loading wheelchair into car, etc (Jason has a lift for his chair)
Help Jason taking off coat, basic personal care etc
Job Requirements
To be based within 20 miles driving distance from Sleaford, Lincolnshire - with a full driving licence and access to a car.
There are is a lot of travel and overnight stays involved, so the person applying must be willing to be able to do this.
To have a full driving licence.
To have experience of working in the creative industries and experience of disability and support.
To support Jason with his studio practice.
To have a good sense of humour.
To be happy to travel and work away - including overnight stays in hotels.
To be patient, have good listening skills and demonstrate empathy.
To have good IT & admin skills, along with a basic understanding of Photoshop.
Job Responsibilities
To support Jason throughout his daily life as a professional artist. Jason is a full time wheelchair user, so much of the support is practical, such as setting up meetings, support with travel, taking wheelchair out of the car and supporting him to travel to meet with galleries, both in the UK and overseas, along with overnight stays. To liaise with Jason's creative partners and oversee delivery of work to galleries, etc.
