Job Description
This post will play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability, public profile and audience development of Viva. This varied role combines responsibility for fundraising, sponsorship and donor development with the delivery of marketing, communications and public relations activity across Viva's productions, touring work, Charity Shop, youth activities, cinema and community projects.
The postholder will research funding opportunities and prepare grant applications and funding bids, while supporting funder reporting and evaluation. They will develop relationships with donors, supporters and sponsors, coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, and identify opportunities to grow both contributed and earned income.
They will lead marketing and PR campaigns for Viva's events and productions, including professional touring and pantomime, and coordinate marketing for the Charity Shop, Saturday School, Youth Theatre, Cinema and other projects. Responsibilities include social media, website content, email marketing, promotional materials, press releases and media relations.
The role will also involve maintaining Box Office and event information, monitoring ticket sales and campaign effectiveness, supporting audience development, and liaising with venues hosting Viva touring productions to coordinate marketing materials and publicity.
The successful candidate will have experience in fundraising, grant applications, sponsorship, marketing, communications or PR, alongside excellent written communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. They will be confident managing social media and digital communications, able to prioritise multiple projects and deadlines, and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a small team.
A creative, proactive and professional approach is essential, together with enthusiasm for theatre, the arts and community engagement. The role may occasionally require evening and weekend working.
Job Requirements
Essential: Experience of fundraising, grant applications & sponsorship, alongside marketing, communications or PR experience. Strong digital marketing and social media skills, with excellent written communication & copywriting ability. Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines & competing priorities, with an understanding of audience development & promotional strategies. Highly organised, proactive& able to work independently using initiative, with excellent attention to detail & relationship-building skills. Confident IT user, including websites, social media & Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyse sales & campaign performance. A creative, flexible & professional team player with enthusiasm for theatre, the arts & community engagement.
Desirable: Experience within the arts, theatre or charity sectors; knowledge of arts funding & fundraising; experience with Box Office or CRM systems, graphic design, content creation fundraising events & touring theatre marketing.

The role also includes monitoring ticket sales and campaign effectiveness, supporting audience development, liaising with touring venues and coordinating marketing materials. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, Trustees and creative teams and attend meetings and events.
