About the British Motor Museum
The British Motor Museum, operated by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, is the proud home of the world's largest collection of historic British cars. Based in Gaydon, Warwickshire, our stunning venue displays over 400 British-born cars spanning the classic, vintage, and veteran eras, alongside an archive of over one million historical items.

We are more than a collection of vehicles; we are custodians of the stories, people, and innovations that drive the world forward.

Britain made these cars and these cars made Britain. From the factory floor workers and pioneering designers to the iconic cultural moments that defined generations, we bring these fascinating narratives to life.

As an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, we preserve, celebrate and ignite this rich heritage, connecting deep industry expertise with global audiences.

Job Requirements

About the roles
We are seeking dynamic, engaged ambassadors to co-create our next era. As a Trustee, you will provide critical governance and strategic leadership, working closely with our CEO Peter Armstrong and the wider executive team. You will help oversee public-value financial management, ensure compliance with charity law and weigh strategic decisions without slipping into operational management.

Crucially, you will steer the 'Ignite' transformation plan, bringing your specialised professional expertise or valuable lived experience to key board decisions.

Through active sub-committees, annual away days, and personal advocacy, you will help us build global digital reach, establish new commercial partnerships and deliver real impact. Your contribution will have a direct impact on our resilience, ensuring the Museum remains an unmissable national asset that inspires future generations, fosters diverse community connections and drives our mission from good to great.
