Job Summary
Job Description
Inspired by the life of Maud Hummerston, Leeds' first female Librarian, the exhibition will be co-created with children and installed in Leeds Central Library to accompany Fidget's festive show The Elf Adventure.
The Artist role includes:
Planning an overview of the exhibition, alongside Fidget Artistic Directors
Running five making workshops with children in branch libraries over October half term
Collaborating with schools' facilitators and videographer to incorporate outcomes from those artists' workshops
Liaising with Library staff on installation of exhibit materials
Requirements:
Experience of co-creating work with children
An interest in Libraries and stories
An interest in heritage
Dates:
w/c 12thOctober: Presentation of plans in response to brief
w/c 26th October: 6 x 1hr workshop for children in Leeds branch libraries
w/c 9th November: Collating children's exhibition materials and making
w/c 23rd November: Installation of exhibition materials
Fee:
£1945 (equates to 7 days of max. 7hrs, planning, making and installing exhibition @ £175 and 6 half days of max 4hrs @ £120 workshops)
The project is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and commissioned by Leeds Libraries.
