Job Summary
Job Description
This is not a traditional fundraising role. The focus is on identifying where Pegasus already has something of value, our artists, productions, events, international relationships, audiences, networks and 30-year track record and turning those assets into sustainable income-generating opportunities.
The Strategic Partnerships and Development Manager will develop relationships across the corporate, cultural and philanthropic sectors and will be expected to deliver against agreed financial targets for new and earned income.
We are looking for someone who understands the opera and wider arts landscape, but who can also think beyond it: identifying where Pegasus can build mutually beneficial relationships with businesses, individuals and organisations that value creativity, exceptional artistic talent, diversity and social impact
Job Requirements
We're looking for someone with commercial flair and a genuine passion for opera and the arts. You will bring:
Strong knowledge of the UK opera, classical music and/or wider cultural sector.
Experience in business development, partnerships, sponsorship, earned income or a related field.
A track record of identifying opportunities and turning relationships into income.
Commercial confidence and experience working towards financial targets.
An entrepreneurial, creative approach to developing new opportunities.
Excellent relationship-building skills, including with senior leaders, corporate partners, artists and high-net-worth individuals.
Strong communication, pitching and negotiation skills.
A proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to manage multiple opportunities.
A strong commitment to Pegasus's mission, artistic excellence, representation and opportunities for Global Majority artists.
Job Responsibilities
You will play a key role in growing Pegasus's income, profile and partnerships by:
Developing and delivering an ambitious earned-income and partnerships plan with clear targets and priorities.
Identifying new commercial opportunities across Pegasus's programmes, artists, networks and intellectual assets.
Building and managing a strong pipeline of corporate, cultural and individual partners.
Creating compelling sponsorship, partnership and collaboration packages aligned with Pegasus's values.
Cultivating high-net-worth individuals and long-term supporters.
Using performances and events to engage prospects and convert relationships into sustainable support.
Developing targeted fundraising and cultivation events with the Executive Director.
Monitoring income targets and reporting on pipeline and performance.
Representing Pegasus confidently at industry, cultural and networking events.
