Job Description

To provide specialist support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, enabling them to access learning, achieve positive outcomes and successfully participate in college life.
The post holder will act as a lead practitioner, supporting the SENDCo in developing inclusive practice, providing guidance and support to the LSA team, coordinating targeted interventions, and ensuring support arrangements meet the requirements of SEND legislation, safeguarding guidance and The Northern Art Group policies.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will provide specialist support to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes. Working closely with the SENDCo, you will deliver targeted interventions, support student wellbeing, and act as a lead practitioner, offering guidance and mentoring to Learning Support Assistants and curriculum staff. You will also contribute to support planning, transition arrangements and the development of inclusive practice across the college.

Job Responsibilities

The Specialist Learning Support Assistant supports students with SEMH needs to succeed academically and personally, while also providing expert guidance to staff and helping drive inclusive practice across the college.
