About the Project:
CtA Creative Media Ltd is producing the London premiere run of Application for Madhouse, an original Off-West End musical. Combining physical theatre, contemporary drama, and urban music styles (including UK Drill/Hip-Hop), the story follows Zyla, a 23-year-old Cambridge graduate navigating job search pressure, visa limits, high living costs, and corporate toxicity in modern London. Desperate for respite, she realizes checking into an NHS mental health unit might be her only cost-free escape-leading to a satirical, dark-humoured exploration of societal expectations, identity, and mental health.

Roles Available:
- Zyla (Female, Stage Age 23-24): Intellectual, ambitious, desperate for success yet life refuses to bend to her will. Strong acting & vocal range.
- Adam (Male, Stage Age 23-25): Free-spirited, casual, philosophical, seeking to jump outside the "box" of rules. Key A2-A4
- Mom (Female, Stage Age 40s-50s): Gentle yet stern, offering maternal love while exerting invisible pressure. Key C3-C5, Mezzon
- Smith German (Female/Male, Stage Age 30s-40s): Rational, composed doctor representing the judgment of the world.
- Managers (Female/Male, Stage Age 30s-40s): High-level manipulators, skilled in corporate power plays.
- Ensemble Cast (Any Gender/Ethnicity): Versatile performers playing patients, passers-by, commuters, office staff.

Production Timeline & Location:
Application Deadline: October 31, 2026
Audition Date: December 4, 2026
Rehearsals: January - March 2027 (Offline in London) Performance: March 21 - March 27, 2027 at Tower Theatre, London
Future Plans: Tours to Edinburgh Fringe, Avignon, and international stages.

Job Requirements

- Open to actors, singers, and physical theatre performers of all backgrounds.
- Strong vocal capability and willingness to engage in physical theatre / movement work.
- Punctual, reliable, and committed to offline rehearsals in London from January to March 2027.
- Must bring own performance energy and collaborative spirit to a brand-new original ensemble.
- Available for auditions on December 4, 2026, and show week March 21-27, 2027.

Job Responsibilities

- Attend scheduled rehearsals in London (Jan-Mar 2027) and show week (Mar 21-27, 2027).
- Memorize lines, vocal parts, and staging/choreography blocking as directed.
- Work collaboratively with director, stage managers, and fellow performers in an ensemble setting.
- Participate in promotional photo/video shoots and media sessions as required.
