The role is a £4,000 fixed freelance fee, based on 20 days at £200 per day, spread across nine weeks from the end of October to December 2026. Priority will be given to applicants who live or work within a Mansfield postcode or have strong connections to Mansfield and its communities, although strong applications from surrounding areas are welcomed.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with:
- Strong connections to Mansfield and an understanding of its communities, places and history.
- Experience in community outreach, creative facilitation, group sessions, youth work or cultural engagement.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with diverse audiences.
- The ability to turn community conversations, stories and ideas into useful project insights.
- Strong organisation, administration and event-planning skills.
- Confidence using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive and Docs.
Where work involves children, young people or vulnerable adults, an enhanced DBS check will be required. Art Fest will fund this if required.

Job Responsibilities

Working closely with Art Fest's Creative Programme Manager, you will:
- Research and map community groups, residents, businesses and youth organisations connected to Mansfield and the mural sites.
- Build relationships with community groups, grassroots organisations, schools and cultural partners.
- Plan, promote and facilitate hands-on creative workshops, consultation sessions and conversations.
- Deliver 2 open public sessions and 8 targeted workshops with community groups.
- Gather local stories, themes and priorities to inform artist commissioning briefs.
- Proactively involve underrepresented communities in the programme.
- Record engagement, feedback and participant stories for evaluation and funder reporting.
- Produce an engagement report bringing together community stories, creative outputs and commissioning insights.
