Job Summary

Lead B:Music’s fundraising during maternity cover, maximising corporate, trust and individual giving. Manage the Development team, cultivate donors and partners, lead major bids and campaigns, and work with Trustees and colleagues to secure income for our charitable and impact work.

Job Description

Fundraising is critical to B:Music's ability to deliver its charitable work, from talent development and community programmes to protecting the future of our world-class venues. As public funding reduces and competition for charitable income increases, we need to grow both restricted and unrestricted income.

The Head of Fundraising will lead B's fundraising activity during maternity cover for the current Head of Development and Impact, maximising income from trusts and foundations, corporate partners and individual donors.

With a particular focus on corporate fundraising, you will manage existing partnerships, develop new prospects and create compelling sponsorship proposals. You will also lead larger funding applications, support major donor cultivation and stewardship, and lead individual giving strategy and campaigns.

You will manage and support the Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations) and Development Officer (Individual Giving), providing direction across their portfolios and ensuring effective prospecting, cultivation, stewardship and income generation. You will work closely with the Talent Development and Education Manager on project budgets, fund balances and funder reporting, and provide clear fundraising updates to the Board and wider staff team.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong track record of securing corporate sponsorship, cultivating individual donors and winning significant funding through successful bids. You will have a good understanding of the UK fundraising landscape, including trusts and foundations, relevant legislation and best practice, alongside experience of financial monitoring and reporting.

You will be an excellent communicator, confident in writing compelling proposals and donor communications and presenting to a range of audiences. Knowledge of CRM or ticketing systems is required. An established network of corporate, donor and funder contacts and a genuine interest in music and cultural engagement
