Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside the Company Manager (CM) one day per week and cover their days off, overseeing daily cast operations, communications, schedules and timesheets. Manage staff welfare, performance, motivation and discipline, escalating concerns to the CM or General Manager (GM) as appropriate. Maintain regular communication with the CM, providing thorough handovers and updates on games, rehearsals and staffing matters.
Cover the full CM role during holidays, including producing weekly cast schedules and submitting payroll. Assist with organising rehearsals for new and existing Customer Hosts and test games for new staff. Provide emergency cover for the Stage Manager, maintain knowledge of all Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) tracks and respond to emergency staffing requirements, including illness.
Relationships:
Work closely with the Company Manager, Stage Management and Wardrobe teams to support daily operations across the games. Liaise with the GM on operational matters, Ticketing and Front of House (FoH) to ensure smooth gameplay, the Director of Venues on building and health and safety issues, and the Associate Director on creative and practical notes. Maintain effective communication with Customer Hosts and other relevant departments.
Health and Safety:
Actively promote the Company's health and safety standards and ensure compliance with policies, safe working practices and workplace-specific requirements. Ensure appropriate protective equipment is used, hazards and defects are reported, and accidents involving staff, customers or visitors are documented promptly in line with company procedures.
Attend mandatory fire and health & safety training and remain familiar with emergency procedures, including fire and bomb threats. Maintain a thorough understanding of departmental risk assessments and COSHH regulations, ensuring teams are appropriately trained, aware of their responsibilities and proactive in maintaining a safe working environment.
Job Requirements
Experience and Person Specification:
Essential:
Previous company management or stage management experience
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to generate complex schedules
Ability to de-escalate tense situations and independently manage conflict resolution.
Ability to build trust and rapport with a team while simultaneously serving the needs of the business.
A keen interest in and passion for live/immersive productions.
Desirable:
Experience in a live/immersive production setting.
Job Responsibilities
Ideal Start Date: ASAP
Fixed Term: Until 03 January 2027
The experience operates 5 days a week off-peak and 7 days a week during peak periods.
Contracted for 18 hours across 3 days per week at £330 per week. Additional hours are paid at £18.33 per hour, subject to prior General Management approval.
Rest days vary according to the weekly rota. At least one working day per week will fall on a weekend.
Self-employed fixed-term contract with holiday pay and SSP benefits.
Holiday Embargoes: No holiday or NA requests will be considered from 24-30 October 2026 (inclusive) and 07 December 2026-03 January 2027 (inclusive), to ensure sufficient staffing during key periods.
Administrative duties operate in a hot-desk environment. As a self-employed contractor, you must provide your own devices, including a laptop and mobile phone.
